भानुभक्त आचार्यको जन्म वि.सं. १८७१ साल असार २९ गते तनहुँ जिल्लाको चुँदी रम्घा भन्ने ठाउँमा भएको थियो।

नेपालको साहित्यिक इतिहासमा भानुभक्त आचार्यको नाम स्वर्ण अक्षरले लेख्नुपर्ने नाम हो । उनी नेपाली भाषाका प्रथम कवि अर्थात् 'आदिकवि' का रूपमा सम्मानित छन् । भानुभक्तले नेपाली भाषामा पहिलोपटक कविताको माध्यमबाट साहित्य सिर्जना गरे । उनको लेखनले नेपाली भाषा र साहित्यलाई एक नयाँ दिशा मात्र दिएन, आमजनतालाई पनि साहित्यमार्फत ज्ञान दिन सफल भए।
उनको काव्य सिर्जनाको महत्व केबल धार्मिक ग्रन्थ अनुवादमा मात्र सीमित छैन । सामाजिक मूल्य, नैतिकता, जीवनका यथार्थ पक्षहरूलाई सरल भाषामा प्रस्तुत गर्दै उनले नेपाली साहित्यलाई जनताको भाषा बनाउने महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका खेलेका छन् । भानुभक्त नेपाली भाषाको पहिलो कवि मात्र होइनन्, उनी नेपाली समाजलाई नै जागरूक बनाउने एक महान् व्यक्तित्व हुन् । नेपाली भाषालाई सशक्त तुल्याउँदै उनले भविष्यका साहित्यकारहरूका लागि मार्गनिर्देशन गरेका छन्।
उनको योगदान केवल रामायण अनुवादमा मात्र सीमित छैन, उनले नेपाली भाषा, समाज र संस्कृतिको संरक्षण गर्न समेत ठूलो योगदान पुर्याएका छन् । उनले लेखेका रचनाहरू आज पनि हामीलाई सही मार्गमा हिँड्न प्रेरित गर्छन् ।
👶 बाल्यकाल र प्रारम्भिक शिक्षा
भानुभक्त आचार्यको जन्म वि.सं. १८७१ साल असार २९ गते तनहुँ जिल्लाको चुँदी रम्घा भन्ने ठाउँमा भएको थियो । उनको परिवार धार्मिक र संस्कृतशास्त्रमा निपुण रहेकोले उनले प्रारम्भिक शिक्षा घरमै पाएका थिए । संस्कृत भाषामा विशेष अभिरुचि भएका भानुभक्तले बाल्यकालदेखि नै काव्य लेखनमा रुचि देखाएका थिए ।
उनका पिता धनञ्जय आचार्य ज्योतिष तथा धार्मिक ग्रन्थका जानकार थिए । सानैदेखि नै धार्मिक ग्रन्थ अध्ययन गर्ने मौका पाएर भानुभक्त साहित्यमा रुचि राख्ने भए । संस्कृत भाषा राम्रोसँग सिकेपछि उनले लेखनको अभ्यास थाले ।
✨ घाँसीको कथा: जीवन बदल्ने मोड
भानुभक्तको जीवनको सबैभन्दा प्रेरणादायी कथा भनेकै घाँसीसँगको भेट हो ।
एउटा रमाइलो प्रसंग अनुसार, भानुभक्त एकदिन आफ्नै बगैचामा हिँड्दै गर्दा उनले एक घाँसी (घाँस काट्ने व्यक्ति) लाई भेटे। भानुभक्तले सोधे:
"तिमी यति धेरै मिहिनेत किन गर्छौ?"
घाँसीले जवाफ दिए:
"मेरो कमाइको केही हिस्सा बचाएर म एक धर्मशाला बनाउँदैछु। यसले धेरैलाई फाइदा पुर्याउँछ।"
यो सुनेर भानुभक्तलाई आत्मसमीक्षा गर्न मन लाग्यो । आफू शिक्षित, विद्वान् भएर पनि समाजका लागि के योगदान गरेको छु भन्ने प्रश्नले उनलाई झक्झकायो । त्यसैले उनले समाजका लागि केही गर्ने अठोट गरे । संस्कृतमा लेखिएका धार्मिक ग्रन्थ नेपाली भाषामा अनुवाद गर्ने निर्णय यही घटनाले प्रेरित गरेको थियो ।
📚 भानुभक्तको साहित्यिक योगदान
📖 १. भानुभक्त रामायण
भानुभक्तको प्रमुख साहित्यिक कृति हो "भानुभक्त रामायण", जुन संस्कृत भाषामा रहेको वाल्मीकि रामायणको नेपाली अनुवाद हो। संस्कृतका कठिन शब्द र शैली नेपाली आम जनताका लागि बुझ्न गाह्रो भएकाले उनले यसलाई सरल नेपाली कविताको रूपमा रूपान्तरण गरे।
रामायणको एक अंश:
"राम नाम मन माहाराखी, पाप कटे सकल ज्ञान होस् मनमा जागोस्, सत्कर्मले उज्यालो फैलियो।"
भानुभक्त रामायण नेपालभर लोकप्रिय छ। उनको रामायणले नेपाली जनतामाझ धर्म र जीवन दर्शनको गहिरो प्रभाव पार्यो ।

भानुभक्तले धार्मिक ग्रन्थ अनुवाद मात्र गरेनन्, समाज सुधारका लागि पनि कलम चलाए। उनका कविताहरूमा कर्म, धर्म, निष्ठा र इमान्दारिताको महत्त्व दर्शाइएको छ ।

वि.सं. १९२५ सालमा उनको निधन भयो । तर उनको साहित्यिक योगदान सदासर्वदा अमर रह्यो ।

Bhanubhakta Acharya: The First Light of Nepali Literature
🌺 Introduction: A Revolutionary Personality
The name of Bhanubhakta Acharya must be recorded in golden characters in Nepali literary history. He is revered as 'Adikavi' (The First Poet), the first poet in the Nepali language. For the first time, Bhanubhakta produced literature in Nepali through poetry. In addition to giving Nepali literature and language a new direction, his writing was successful in educating the general public through literature.
The translation of holy texts is not the only use for his lyrical production. He helped establish Nepali literature as the language of the people by presenting morals, social values, and life's realities in an approachable manner. In addition to being the first poet in the Nepali language, Bhanubhakta was a remarkable individual who raised awareness in Nepali culture. He has cleared the path for next authors by bolstering the Nepali language.
Not only has he translated the Ramayana, but he has also played a vital role in maintaining Nepali culture, language, and society. His writings still motivate us to follow the correct course.
Childhood and Primary Education
On the 29th of Asar, 1871 BS, Bhanubhakta Acharya was born in the Tanahun district at a location known as Chundi Ramgha. He acquired his early education at home because his family knew Sanskrit and religious writings well. From an early age, Bhanubhakta had an interest in composing poetry and had a particular fondness for Sanskrit.
Dhananjay Acharya, his father, was knowledgeable about religious texts and astrology. Bhanubhakta had a strong interest in literature since he was able to study holy writings at an early age. He started writing when he had mastered Sanskrit.

An intriguing story states that Bhanubhakta once encountered a grass cutter while strolling around his garden. He was asked by Bhanubhakta:
"Why do you work so hard?"
In response, the grass cutter said:
I set aside a portion of my income to construct a rest home. Many people will gain from it.
Bhanubhakta felt compelled to examine himself after hearing this. He wondered what he had contributed to society as a well-educated and smart individual. He was motivated by this experience to make some kind of contribution to society. He made the decision to transcribe religious texts into Nepali from Sanskrit.

A Nepali translation of Valmiki's Sanskrit Ramayana, "Bhanubhakta Ramayana" is considered Bhanubhakta's most significant literary work. He converted it into a straightforward Nepali poetry form because the ordinary Nepali could not understand the intricate Sanskrit language and style.A section of the Ramayana:
"The name of Ram, when meditated upon, removes all sins, May wisdom awaken in the mind, and good deeds spread light."
